SLC Ballet is committed to providing the best performance opportunities for both adult and youth dance students. Your students will have several performance opportunities throughout the year, including our annual Nutcracker and Spring Performance.
Students will perform on professional stages and frequently share the stage with World Class Professional Ballet Artists. Past venues have included Kingsbury Hall, Rose Wagner, and Marriott Center for Dance. Guest Artists have included Vladimir Tsal from Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia; Rolando Sarabia, Washington Ballet; Tamako Miyazak, Washington Ballet; and Bret Coppa of University of North Carolina.
Lower school students have the opportunity to perform as Mice, Soldiers and Party Children in Act I. During Act II, lower school students will be cast as Bon Bons. Be sure and register before the Nutcracker deadline to participate!
Upper school students participate in a variety of roles, including the Corps de Ballet Waltz of the Snow and Waltz of the Flowers, and variations including Russian, Chinese, Merliton, Arabian, and Spanish. They may also be cast as soloists and fill additional roles in Act I.
Adult Students and community dancers (Ages 16+) are also invited to participate as party parents and as part of the Corps de Ballet in Waltz of the Snowflakes. To participate, you must attend the first rehearsal.
Students in levels 4-6 may audition for our Youth Company. Performances have included WorlDance and the Vaganova Society Annual Gala in Edmonton, Canada, as well as many local events including Arts Festivals, Library Shows, etc.
SLC Ballet hosts an annual workshop with Professional dancers from Mikhailovsky Theatre Ballet, St. Petersburg, Russia.
