Ballet: Barre and center work will include more complex combinations and the introduction of basic turns and jumps. Upper and lower body coordination, stability on one leg, and memorization steps are stressed in preparation for intermediate ballet technique. Individual focus and mindfulness in the studio are essential at this level of classical ballet training.
Creative Dance: Introductory level of contemporary and modern dance, focusing on creative movement, flexibility and musicality. Take this class individually, or with ballet for stronger classical ballet training.
Jazz:Students will continue their development of jazz movement. Take this class individually, or with ballet for stronger classical ballet training.
Tap:Students will learn more advanced tap movement and rhythyms. Take this class individually, or with ballet for stronger classical ballet training.
We encourage your young dancer to take at least one ballet class and at least one class in creative dance, jazz or tap. Creative Dance, Jazz and Tap support classical ballet training. Students with less than two years of ballet training who are 7 - 9 years old should begin in Level 2.
As students become more serious about their ballet training, additional ballet classes may be added. Tap is an excellent class for preparation for Character Dance, which begins in Level 3.
You may take as many classes as you like!
