Natalie Desch

Juilliard BFA, University of Washington MFA, performed with the Limón Dance Company (1996-2001) before joining Doug Varone and Dancers (2001-2012.)

During her time with Varone, she collaborated in over twenty new works and served as co-rehearsal director. Natalie has been a soloist with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and worked with Varone at several regional opera and theater companies.

She has taught at the following summer intensives:

  • Limón (1998-2000)
  • Varone (2002-2011, 2015, 2016)
  • the Bates Dance Festival (2003, 2010)
  • the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (2009-2011, 2016)
  • the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theater (2014)
  • Regional Dance America/Pacific Region (2016)
  • Ririe-Woodbury's Move-It workshop (2014, 2016)
  • and Ballet West Academy (2015, 2016.)

Natalie taught extensively at various studios in New York City including the Limón Institute, Peridance, Dance New Amsterdam, and the 92nd Street Y amongst others (1996-2012), was a faculty member at Hunter College in NYC (2005-2012) and guest faculty at Weber State University (2015.) Natalie has staged the works of Varone, Limón, and Jiri Kylián on companies and universities around the world, and her choreography has been presented at venues throughout the United States. In 2008, she earned her yoga certification from YogaWorks NYC. Natalie currently teaches for Ballet West Academy, Utah Valley University, and Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
